Whether you have a single pet bird or a whole bird room dedicated to the keeping and breeding of birds, the all new 8watt system could offer the perfect solution for you.

Using the link cables you can connect up to 10 Arcadia Mini UVB units to just one power supply.

Unlike ineffective LED systems the Arcadia 'Bird Lamp' boasts a gentle 2.4% UVB which will, if used as directed, help to both activate natural colour vision and cause the production of the essential Vitamin D3 within the body in a safe and regulated way.

Vitamin D3 has many essential uses including allowing the body to assimilate, store and use calcium.

The Arcadia 8w bird fitting is easy to use and easy to fit. It is a low energy product and is small enough to create areas of light and shade within most standard cages.

As always the high quality German made lamp is guaranteed to be UVB potent for 12 whole months and is easy to change at the end of this period.

Contents include lamp holder, bulb, reflector, power lead, link cable and fittings (cable ties required for wire cages - not supplied). The highly polished reflector ensures that your bird(s) received the maximum amount of beneficial UV light.

UVB - Researchers have found that most birds benefit from UVB. Exposure to UVB allows birds to synthesis Vitamin D3 in the skin through a special process involving the preening gland. Vitamin D3 is essential for proper calcium metabolism. This is necessary for normal growth, maintenance of strong bones and egg production.

UVA - "visible light": Birds have specialised retinas that enable them to see UVA, helping them to recognise mates, locate food and identify different species. Using lighting that emits UVA can help curb feather picking and other destructive behaviours. Without UVA birds are deprived of the full colour spectrum they see in nature and are essentially colour-blind. UVA is also necessary for the psychological health of your bird.
